New Toy..ota

So some real major changes today. New truck and new phone. After all of my ranting and raving about the HTC Fuze (or Diamond Touch Pro), I couldn't stand one more missed text or quirky reset. Accompanied to the AT&T store by friend and business partner from Evolution Entertainment , I succombed to the Apple cult, drank the juice, traded in my brand new Fuze and became the 'very proud' owner of an iPhone. Yes, I know those of you Appletons who have loved them from day 1 are saying 'I told you so', but with the new 3G release I really am enjoying it.

In addition, time was up on the ol' 4Runner lease so concluded our second day of test driving the latest Toyota SUVs. To keep it short, the Rav4 was more expensive than our 4Runner, the new 4Runners weren't impressive, just the same as ours from 2005. The FJ Cruiser, a whole other story. It drove solid, was very fun to drive, and the price turned out to be $40 cheaper a month than our 4Runner... wow. So we fell in love with it almost immediately after driving it. We're adding the roof rack system shortly so I'll have something to strap down the longboards on. Very fun to drive, may I mention that again...

Remote Caravan Door

I came across this video on my computer today as thought it would be worthy of YouTube. I believe this video was shot in the parking lot of Dolphin Stadium in 2005 after a Ravens-Dolphins game. For my friends who were present, I'm sure you remember this well :)

Bang Goes The Michelin

Happy 4th of July! We cheated a little and started our fireworks early today... well not exactly. Becky was coming back from exercising this morning when she said she hear a 'pop' and the tire was flat -- seperated from the rear rim... Firestone style. Thank goodness this didn't happen on the interstate. We've had flat tire experiences before down here in FL and we always are suprised how nobody stops to help -- quite the opposite from our experiences living in North Carolina. Oh well, that's not important. The real message is that thank God for not letting this happen to her while she was on the interstate at 80mph but on a secondary road where she came to a stop in front of a church :)

(I have to add that Geico beat me there and had changed the tire - thanks to them. During so, the couple of people who were leaving the church did stop to ask if they could help. There are a few good ones left down here.)

Bigfoot was hit today.

I had to just post this photo from Vail. There's a Conoco gas station I stop in when I'm out there. The owner is from Mexico, very nice guy. He stocks imported bottled Pepsi from Mexico, and although they're loaded with sugar, they are so good. Just random. He remembers us when we stop in since we told him we wanted to order some of the imported Pepsi. He laughed about it, and now remembers us for that silly reason.
Anyways, this pic. Man, this car looked like it hit Bigfoot. I wonder how this guy drives this thing through the passes... Definitely going to fail the car inspection and flunk the CarMax appraisal.

245 MPG!

We attended an Earth Day event in Lake Worth, FL this weekend, and it was pretty cool. The neatest 'eco' thing we checked out was this zero emission electric car... Zenn Car. Check out their website http://www.zenncars.com/ This thing was priced at $17K, but it's mileage... 245 miles per charge... at least that's what the sticker said. It's like a golf cart on speed! Wonder if you could get away with cruising around in it during a round of golf?
