The Daily Ocean: Beverly's Palm Beach Cleanup - Part 1: "Daily Ocean style cleanup"
We hope this note finds you enjoying your summer! Today we cleaned up a local beach in Gulfstream, FL, collecting bags of small plastics and trash with the support from many of our local volunteers. It was a great way to start the day, knowing an entire beach was picked clean of trash.
So how about a knowing you've taken part in supporting one of your environmental causes as a birthday gift from one or more of your friends?
How It Works:
Supporters can “donate” their birthday to Stop The Breakwaters! campaign. Anyone whose birthday is in the next 30 days can make a Birthday Wish and ask friends to give money to your cause.
Check it out, and we continue to thank you for supporting our Surfrider Foundation Chapter in our effort to "Stop the Breakwaters".
We are following a detox diet that Gwyneth Paltrow has posted on her website Goop.com.
The salad pictured here has been my favorite so far. It has a carrot and ginger dressing that tastes awesome.
So, day three of no caffiene, no sugar, no bread, no preservatives, etc. is going pretty well. We've got a ton of coconuts in the yard ready to be picked for more coconut juice. I can say however, I really do miss my Cuban coffee.
Thanks to Shrimp Creole for the source. The manatee and the boat exiting the inlet clips are great.
Surf is here for a few days... go get it!
Take a minute to visit StopTheBreakwaters.com to download and print this petition after educating yourself how local tax dollars will be spent on the largest proposed breakwater project on the East Coast. This project threatens to destroy almost 9 acres of nearshore hardbottom reef, threaten sea turtles, ruin surf, etc. Act now before this project paves the way for breakwaters up and down our coast.
Here's some redemption for myself knowing that there are other people with WAAAAY too much time on their hands... and that the lunch video of the dry ice was still a 'lunch break'. Hahaha.
